Question: What is the essential thing about the Order?

I believe that the important thing is cross-border socializing of people with excellent professional competence but also voluntary engagement. Additionally, they enjoy cultivating chivalrous rituals. Finally, it is always a genuine reward to help people in need. If you want to, you can make friends with interesting and friendly people all over Europe. Besides, the Order\'s events take you to historically interesting places and help your learn about historical relationships throughout Europe.

Question: How do you become a member?

Theoretically, every man and every woman can become a member of the Order. Naturally, acknowledging the statutes is a prerequisite. In practical terms, however, as a rule, personalities are proposed by the members of the Order. Successful professional work and voluntary engagement in the interest of the public at large is a precondition. Additionally, commitment to the democratically established state founded on the rule of law and to the principles of peaceful living proclaimed by the Unites Nations. Naturally, there must be a special interest in chivalrous customs. After a probationary period of time, there is a mutually agreed admittance in ceremonial form. Besides the membership, there is the opportunity of sharing the Order's social life as a friend with no obligations of either party. The interested friend is sent invitations to a great number of events.

Question: How much is the membership fee?

As of this date the fee for admittance in Germany amounts to € 800 covering the first annual dues, the costs of the mantle of the Order, the necktie medal respectively the sash for the lady. Add the costs for participating in the Order's events and for donation campaigns. In the consecutive years the annual fee is € 100. The commander's offices outside Germany have different regulations which can be inquired for at the respective national office.
